The Magnificent Seven

Theo Walcott rounds the keeper before scoring Arsenal's third

Last night at the Emirates was surely one of the greatest performances the European Cup (or Champions League) has ever seen. The Young Gunners popped in seven goals, but it so easily could have been more. Coincidentally, the first Arsenal game I ever saw on TV was Arsenal vs FK Austria Memphis, a game that also had 7 goals, a 6-1 demolition in the 1991-2 European Cup. How strange. Anyway, I attribute this season’s success to two players in particular, Alex Hleb and Cesc Fabregas. The communication and vision between them is excellent and both have added significantly to the goals tally. If we can keep both of them fit Arsenal are in with a chance of silverware this year.
